HOLLYWOOD'S 'BLAIR-ING' ABOUT JAYSON

Get to know MTV's soon-to-be bad boy on the block, Jayson Blair. Yes, you can hear the girls swoon. MTV's set to debut The Adventures of RJ Berger in June, but you can get to know the handsome hottie now. Blair plays resident BMOC (Big Man on Campus, for those who have no clue), Max Owen, who enjoys antagonizing the beloved dorky title character, RJ. The buzz about this highly anticipated scripted show is bringing a new flavor to MTV. With David Katzenberg at the helm, you can rest assured that when someone mentions the hideous Jersey Shore, you'll be saying "Forgettabout it!' This show is being hailed "Wonder Years" meets "SuperBad" and promises to entertain on a scripted series, not on wanna-be-reality nonsense.

Blair's passion for acting came at a young age and his career thus far is flourishing. If his name doesn't ring a bell, just yet, I bet you will recognize him as the cute guy in the elevator in the Taco Bell commercials last summer holding the Queso Crunchwrap. Yes, he made fast food, super sexy. And that isn't even scratching the surface, he's appeared on Glee, CSI: NY, and Heroes, just to name a few. And the future is bright for this up and comer. With upcoming roles in the films, Public Relations and The Steamroom, next to his series regular role as MTV's most popular love-to-hate jock.

I had the pleasure of working with Jayson a couple of years ago on an indie project called Big Game, that also starred C. Thomas Howell, Haley Webb, and Kevin Horton. And now, I can call him a client. I'm excited about the future of this very deserving young actor. This isn't the last you will hear from Tinseltown's newest heartthrob and I promise to keep him in fresh threads! Move over Bradley Cooper, . . .brunettes are sexier!

NEW BEGINNING

There was a song lyric once that said "Every new beginning, comes from some other beginning's end." And I find that very true in my life. With the passing of my grandfather, I feel like a chapter has closed and blank pages lay in front of me, just aching to be painted. Painted with a new beginning, . . .a new me? the same me, but with a different goal?

Each day, I grow closer to finding comfort in the things that use to not be so important to me before. Now, I enjoy walking in my neighborhood, running on the beautiful well-manicured landscaping that makes Beverly Hills, a sanctuary for me, curling up on the sofa at 9pm with a new eye-opening book and a warm cup of red roobis chai tea (and if you haven't tried it yet, it's at Trader Joe's and it's phenomenal. Honestly, it's like Christmas in a cup, and who doesn't love Christmas?)

I've made a new list of goals to obtain in 2009. One of them, includes to blog more. Yes, I vow to share in my inquiries of life and maybe not always what I am going through, but others around me. (And don't worry for privacy sake, if I mention your particular life question, I will change your name.) I will most definitely keep you all current with the trends in the industry on my other blog- FASHION THREAD.
This blog is going to allow me to share my feelings, thoughts, and writings with the world, really, the whole world, thanks to the invention of the world wide web. With that said, I should say, if you do not want things/photos shared, why would you post them? On facebook, twitter, and myspace? These social sites allow every detail of your life to be shared-- that is my next blog- when is enough, enough? what to share and what not to share. Remember life's little lesson- "Less is More", but of course, that short, cute little statement only pertains to a few things in life. Because no one can never have too many Louis Vuitton bags, Tiffany's diamonds, Jimmy Choo shoes, and hugs. (of course, I am talking more about the latter, but the other things are fun too >wink<)

I also want this blog to be a chance for you all to ask me questions and I will do my best to answer. Topics that are welcome: LOVE, FASHION, FAMILY, & FITNESS (all the great things that encompass life and it's many gifts.) Ok, before we get all mushy and lovey-dovey, I am straight, to the point, will tell you things in a direct manner and remember it's my opinion! **Note: This blog is the direct opinions of Celebrity Fashion Stylist, Toni Ferrara** (ok, that is up, we are good to go, . . .first topic- why do we post personal stuff on FACEBOOK, MYSPACE, & TWITTER? When is enough, enough? How it affects relationships? How to use these sites in a productive manner? Ok, . . .cross your fingers, . . .here we go, . . .oh and one last thing, please, please, please, have your friends join my BLOG, I'd truly appreciate it! I am pretty witty & funny with my topics that I choose to write about and maybe I am saying something that you or your friends are thinking! Share the love!

FASHION NIGHT OUT- NYC

Fashion Retailers in All Five Boroughs Will Stay Open Until 11 p.m. Sept. 10 and Host In-store Events on First Night of Fashion Week

New York, NY (June 20) - Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, NYC & Company CEO George Fertitta, Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour and Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Executive Director Steven Kolb today announced Fashion’s Night Out, a citywide event to support local retailers. On Sept. 10, the first night of Fashion Week, participating retail stores across the five boroughs will stay open until 11:00 p.m. and offer an array of in-store celebrations and promotions. Nearly 100 retailers have already signed on to participate in the event. Fashion’s Night Out is sponsored by Vogue, CFDA and NYC & Company, New York City’s official marketing and tourism organization.
“New York City’s fashion and retail industry is a vital part of our local economy, supporting more than 175,000 jobs as seamstresses, sales clerks, delivery drivers and other occupations in apparel design, garment manufacturing, retailing, and other areas,” said Mayor Bloomberg. “Fashion’s Night Out will provide our local retailers with a boost and will serve as a terrific kick-off for fall Fashion Week. I want to thank Vogue and the Council of Fashion Designers of America for developing a creative way to support New York City.”
“Vogue is very proud to be part of this important initiative which will not only celebrate fall Fashion Week, but also support and draw attention to the extraordinary and unrivaled fashion and retail industry in New York City,” said Vogue Magazine editor in chief Anna Wintour. “The City is home to some of the world’s most celebrated and diverse designers, and renowned for its vast array of retailers from legendary department stores to the most charming independent boutiques. Fashion’s Night Out is about protecting this creativity and diversity, reenergizing New York’s fashion and retail community and getting consumers excited about shopping for fall.”
In addition to supporting local retailers, Fashion’s Night Out will benefit important New York City causes. A special limited-edition t-shirt has been created for Fashion’s Night Out and will go on sale at participating retailers three-weeks prior to the event. Proceeds from its sale will support the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. Also, shoppers will be encouraged to donate gently used or newly purchased clothes at participating stores or at specifically designated drop-off locations. Clothes will then be collected by the New York City AIDS Fund to benefit HIV/AIDS organizations across the city. Drop-offs will be made on Saturday, September, 12th, and there will be at least one collection drop-off location in each borough.

Drop-offs will be made on Saturday, September, 12th, and there will be at least one collection drop-off location in each borough.
“Now more than ever it is important for New Yorkers to support their local community, and the programming for Fashion’s Night Out is a great, fun vehicle with which to do so,” said NYC & Company CEO George Fertitta. “New Yorkers, as well as visitors to New York City, have an opportunity to give back while taking advantage of one our City’s biggest and most alluring industries.”
“Fashion’s Night Out centers around giving back to the community that we all so often enjoy and take for granted,” said Council of Fashion Designers of America Executive Director Steven Kolb. “Anyone considering making a clothing donation should keep in mind that whatever the price point of their donation, they will be making a valuable contribution to the City’s retail industry, while at the same time being a part of a one-of-a-kind evening of shopping and entertainment.”
“Small businesses are the mainstay of our City and support the diverse fabric of our neighborhoods,” said Small Business Services Commissioner Walsh. “When our small businesses succeed there are more job opportunities for New Yorkers. I encourage everyone to get out and shop on Fashion’s Night Out — to ensure our City maintains its vibrant spirit.”
“Working people in the city are hurting, and no more so than those who work in retail,” said Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union President Stuart Appelbaum. “This initiative not only serves consumers, but helps provide a needed boost to New York’s retail industry at a time when it’s needed most.”
“As a retailer, we are very excited about supporting this citywide initiative designed to stimulate the retail and fashion industries,” said Macy’s, Inc. President and CEO Terry Lundgren. “Fashion’s Night Out is a great program that will get New Yorkers and tourists excited about shopping again in the City that is known around the world for its eclectic fashion and iconic retail stores.”
The program’s website, fashionsnightout.com, provides retailers and consumers with information on how they can take part in Fashion’s Night Out. Consumers can access details on the programming, sign up for regular updates, and learn more about charitable and volunteer opportunities. Interested retailers will also be able to register their store and place orders for the Fashion’s Night Out tee.

ON THE SET: ELLIOTT YAMIN

Fight For Love

(April 11 & 12, 2009) Los Angeles, CA. Today I got the opportunity to work with client & close friend of mine, Elliott Yamin. Many of you will remember the name if you are a devoted American Idol follower, and for the true music connoisseurs, you know this R&B crooner from his chart topping hit "Wait for You" last year. Elliott's genuine personality and incredible talent make him a true blessing to work with. With director-extraordinaire, Nick Spanos at the helm again (directed the "Wait for You" video) this treatment was taking it to a whole other level!

Day 1 was at the Los Angeles Theatre in down town. Absolutely stunning, we all oooh-ed and awww-ed because it was something out of a fairytale, the dramatic red velvet staircases and glittering chandeliers left everyone speechless. And oh, if those walls could talk they would probably have the best stories of Old Hollywood royalty gathering to watch their favorite play.
Today these walls were radiating a whole different tune, . . ."Fight for Love", Elliott's first single off his sophomore album that drops May 5th (yes, Cinco de Mayo- treat yourself to margaritas and an album, what could be better?)

Day 2 was at a warehouse location in Los Angeles. Elliott will release the single "You Say" to his Japanese audience (but don't fret US fans, this song is on the US album). This was the day of Elliott & his band (shout out to Russ, Jooney, Aaron, Jamie, and Glenn) & a cameo by Buster Magoo Paetz-Yamin.

The "You Say" video has more of a raw, un-cut feel to it, as it captures more of the essence of Elliott and his band. The one thing to admire about Elliott's style is that he stays true to his own personal style-- effortless. He loves Chucks, skinny jeans, vests, retro jackets, and aviator shades.

L to R: Jeff Rabhan (manager), me, and Jaime on the set of "You Say".

Ok, and because I have been getting tons of emails from Elliott's adoring and very loyal fans. I will break it down for you, as far as, wardrobe he wore.

Painted vest by Elmer Avenue
Skinny Jeans by William Rast
Grey/Black sneakers by Puma
Grey fitted blazer by Armani

And when You Say is released, I will let you know what he wore!
